Garden under Glass or Terrarium.

In France, we are very famous for putting small garden under glass or Un Terrarium.....Jardin sous verre. We use them a lot in apartments...in Paris. One great idea to use flowers from Mother's day :) This is also a great center piece or gift on the small scale.

I made this one a Fairy garden under glass...

This is a very cheap way to make a garden.....A cloche Garden also is very pretty......Some Cloches come with a bowl base...Perfect.....Today i chose one of my big glass container...

I grabbed some African Violets.....Choose any plants good in shade...

Irish Moss...

Orchid...Make sure it is a small one to fit the Jar...

I filled the Jar with some dirt...Miracle grow here...
Add some water and wait for the dirt to absorb it...

Start planting....The Orchid stayed in it's pot...The rest was planted...

whenever i can find little figurines to paint...I grab them. Little Angels are perfect for this....I have the kids paint them...
Here goes the little Fairy...

If i can find little bird houses...I grab them too..

All set and pretty...

Very fun to make...

Do not water too much...Once in a while...
The African violet need some air and less water than the moss. Make sure you don't water too much and open the lid :)
If you get mildew spray with a mix of water and antiseptic mouth wash.

A very interesting way of gardening. How long can the plants live in it? Valerie

I am not good with plants unless they grow wild in the field. I love what you have done and may give it a try once more.
