French toast, pain perdu recipe

I have been so spoiled. Hubby has been making French toasts for breakfast. I love the aroma in the house. It just makes me happy in the morning. They are so delicious!

I have to have good  and real Maple syrup, Spring tree has a great one!
My Dear friend gave me Fresh eggs...They taste marvelous! I miss having chickens and fresh eggs.

Hubby says...5 eggs, a little bit of milk and cinnamon powder. Dip the bread on both sides. Cook on both sides.
In France Pain perdu means "lost bread". We use old bread, too hard to eat. Mostly Country loafs, French Baguette and of course sandwich bread.

What do you like for breakfast???
XOXO

I would like your husband to come and make French Toast at my house. That looks delicious. I've never tried cinnamon in the egg mix but that's a wonderful idea. I sometimes make myself French Toast for dinner....so easy and yummy! Happy Summer Ya'll!

Yum. We like our French Toast like that too. Sometimes I add some vanilla extract to the eggs and milk. We only use real maple syrup too. Actually I have that same bottle in my fridge :)

Isn't it wonderful! My husband makes French toast too, but it's just for him and our sons. I think he adds a wee bit of almond extract too. Tell your husband to try that. I think of French toast as a treat, but hard for me to think of it as a meal. Have a wonderful weekend!

Yummy! You are one lucky lady! That french toast looks simple and good! We do a lot of yogurt and fruit around here but I'd love to step it up and have something like this!

Glad you have "real" maple syrup...not the corn syrup kind! Have you tried putting some sour cream, or plain yogurt, on top with the syrup?? Yummy!

Egg omelette with onions, cheese, and bell peppers is my absolute fave. I also like to use the real maple syrup, same brand you use. So yummy! That's a good hubby you have, Frenchy!

Yum! This is a favorite of mine. I love to top it with fresh peaches sauteed in butter and brown sugar. Mmmm. I'm having a blackberry and raspberry pizza this morning. I mixed whipped cream, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and rose water for the "sauce". It is yummy!
